it's been quite a while since I last updated this blog and left a few lines, well today's the day. What's the occasion? Yesterday evening I came across a video on YouTube that grabbed my attention and just fascinated me in a way that no YouTube Video has before. Why? Well, this one was different. Special. Something else.
Todd Bieber, a young guy from New York, a filmmaker came across a little film box in a big park in New York last winter after the big Blizzard. As any normal person would do, he put it on a fence so that someone could find it, when looking for it and then he turned away and moved on. But what he then did was something, that not many people would have done. He took the film, developed it, found beautiful pictures, made an amazing YouTube Video of it and set out on a mission: to find the owner of the photos and the film.

In a time, where the world was supposed to end this month (it's now rescheduled for October, so don't worry), where the greek debt crisis is about to turn the stock markets upside down, where everyone is talking about the scandals of maybe-ex-future-french-presidents, where Japan is facing one of the worst natural and man-made catastrophes of our time... everyone is involved. With desasters and themselves. But who would care to invest so much time and energy to do something that has absolutely no measurable value for themselves, except it being "doing something good for someone else". It happens so rarely, so rarely in fact that I didn't quite believe it was possible. But apparently.. it is. And that, I must say, makes me happy and actually made me smile.
The world is bad, but there still is some good out there.
If you're in the mood to let something make you smile for a moment, watch Todd Bieber's video (and don't forget to watch part 2 and part 3 as well)
And yes, 1.7 Million viewers later, a few television interviews and lots of media attention, this young guy actually made it. He found the owner, travelled to Europe and personally handed over this little piece, that represents not only cool photos and a nice trip, but a lot more.
Cheers & enjoy,
Tim
